Rumors Surrounding Arema FC Player's Possible Departure

Arema FC's management has stated that they have no intentions of releasing any players during the mid-season transfer window of the 2024-25 Liga 1 season. However, rumors have been circulating, linking some of Arema’s players to other clubs. One player in the spotlight is midfielder Jayus Hariono, who is allegedly set to join PSS Sleman in the second half of the season. This speculation surfaced from a PSS supporter’s Instagram account.

When asked for a comment, Jayus refrained from addressing the rumors. At 27 years old, he simply stated that he couldn't discuss the matter. Despite the gossip, Jayus continues to train with Arema, suggesting that the talk of his transfer to PSS remains unconfirmed.

Jayus has been a loyal figure at Arema since joining the club in 2018, spending seven years with the team without transferring to another club. However, this season, his playing time has been limited. In the first half of the 2024-25 Liga 1, Jayus only appeared in four matches, and these came near the end of the first round. This has led to questions about his future with the club.
While Jayus has generally been a player with few rumors surrounding a potential departure in past seasons, his role this year has been overshadowed by foreign players. The presence of two foreign defensive midfielders, Julian Guevara and Pablo Oliveira, has restricted Jayus's opportunities, as he only plays when both foreign players are unavailable.

This is not the first time an Arema player has been linked to PSS. Earlier in 2024, Achmad Figo, a young defender from Malang, officially joined PSS. Figo, who started his professional career at Arema in 2022, left due to limited playing time with the team.

At PSS, Figo has received more chances to play, participating in 14 matches in the first half of the 2024-25 season and contributing two assists. Despite PSS struggling near the bottom of the league standings, Figo’s career appears to be on an upward trajectory. The team currently sits 14th with 15 points.
