Tamirlan Kozubaev Returns to Strengthen Persita Tangerang

Tamirlan Kozubaev, a 30-year-old defender, has rejoined Persita Tangerang during the mid-season transfer window of the BRI Liga 1. His return brings renewed energy to the team following a successful career abroad.



Tamirlan is no stranger to the Tangerang football community, having previously played for Persita in the 2020-21 season. However, his time with the club was cut short due to the suspension of the competition after just three matches because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Upon his return, Tamirlan was warmly welcomed by his teammates, staff, and all club members. He expressed feeling that there was unfinished business at Persita, reflecting his strong connection with the club.

Having gained significant experience abroad, Tamirlan is now more mature and eager to make a significant contribution to Persita for the remainder of the season. He aims to help the team achieve their highest goals and is committed to working hard for that purpose.

As the captain of the Kyrgyzstan national team, Tamirlan has gained valuable experience during his time playing in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Hong Kong. After leaving Persita, he went on to play for Shinnik Yaroslavl in Russia and Turan in Kazakhstan in 2021.

For the last three seasons, Tamirlan played for Eastern, a Hong Kong Premier League club, where he made 16 appearances in the first half of the 2024-25 season, including matches in the AFC Champions League Two. Last season, he helped Eastern secure the Hong Kong FA Cup title, a success he hopes to build upon in strengthening Persita’s defense.

Tamirlan is excited to play again in front of Persita’s passionate supporters, remembering the incredible atmosphere during home matches. With his experience, he is determined to help the team achieve the best possible results in the remaining Liga 1 fixtures this season, confident that his international experience will be a valuable asset for Persita's journey.
