The Curaçao-born player was brought in to replace Mailson Lima, who was deemed less effective during the first half of the season. Kastaneer, who is thrilled to have the chance to play for a prestigious club like Persib, praised the team's rich history and passionate fanbase.

Kastaneer joined Persib Bandung during the mid-season transfer window with a one-and-a-half-year contract. The 28-year-old forward brings valuable experience from playing in European countries, including the Netherlands (FC Dordrecht, ADO Den Haag, NAC Breda, and PEC Zwolle), Germany (FC Kaiserslautern), England (Coventry City), Scotland (Hearts), and Spain (Castellon). He has also won trophies, lifting the League One title with Coventry City in 2019-20 and the Championship League with Hearts in 2022-21.
