Persib Bandung has officially announced the signing of Iraqi national team defender Frans Putros, revealing the news uniquely through a flower board displayed on Jalan Asia Afrika. The local mayor helped unveil the player’s name alongside the Iraqi flag, confirming Putros as the latest addition to the Maung Bandung squad. This creative announcement drew attention and excitement among the club’s supporters.

Before joining Persib, Putros played for Thailand’s Port FC, where he spent two seasons alongside Indonesian international Asnawi Mangkualam. During his time at Port FC, he made 95 appearances, scoring five goals and providing seven assists. Prior to his stint in Thailand, Putros had a varied career in Denmark, representing clubs such as Viborg, Hobro IK, Silkeborg, and Aarhus. Born in Denmark with Iraqi heritage, he has chosen to represent Iraq internationally, earning 20 caps so far.

The 32-year-old defender is expected to boost Persib’s squad depth, particularly in defense.
