Nico Williams Edges Closer to Bayern Move Amid Premier League Interest
Nico Williams has reportedly expressed strong interest in joining Bayern Munich this summer, with the German champions emerging as serious contenders to secure his signature. The young winger is said to be open to the move, signaling to Bayern officials that he is ready for a new challenge as the Bundesliga side prepares for a squad refresh ahead of the new season.

Bayern’s interest has intensified following the departure of Leroy Sane to Galatasaray on a free transfer, creating a vacancy in their attacking lineup. Although both Arsenal and Chelsea have kept close tabs on Williams, Bayern appears to have gained an edge in the race by moving swiftly in negotiations and presenting a clear role for him within their squad.

Bayern’s sporting directors, Max Eberl and Christoph Freund, are leading discussions with Williams’ camp and have reportedly received positive responses. However, a potential transfer hinges on Bayern meeting Athletic Bilbao’s release clause, which stands at around €60–65 million. Additionally, Williams is believed to be seeking a gross salary in the region of €20 million, reflecting his growing stature in European football.
