Bali United Secures Future with Contract Extensions for Key Local Players

Bali United has officially extended the contracts of two key players, striker Muhammad Rahmat and goalkeeper Fitrul Rustapa, ahead of the upcoming 2024/2025 Liga 1 Indonesia season. The club’s management confirmed this decision as part of their preparation to strengthen the squad following a period of transition. These renewals show the club's intent to maintain a solid foundation of experienced local players amid various changes.
Fitrul Rustapa, a goalkeeper from Garut and former Persib Bandung player, had limited playing time during the last season. However, in the six matches he did play, he made a strong impression by keeping four clean sheets. Despite not being the first-choice goalkeeper, his performances have convinced the coaching staff to retain him for the next season, indicating potential for greater involvement moving forward.
On the offensive side, veteran forward Muhammad Rahmat, also known as “The Flash,” will continue to wear Bali United’s colors for another season. A crucial figure since joining the team in 2020, Rahmat contributed significantly last season with six goals and three assists in 24 appearances. His experience and versatility, whether starting or coming off the bench, remain vital to the team’s attacking options.
As the club reshapes its roster, a wave of departures has occurred during the current transfer window. Six foreign players have already left the team, along with five local players, including two goalkeepers. Amid these changes, retaining consistent performers like Rahmat and Fitrul highlights Bali United's strategy to build a competitive squad rooted in reliable domestic talent.
