Bali United Defeats Borneo FC 3-2 in a Heated Match Filled with a Red Card and Penalties

Bali United triumphed over Borneo FC with a 3-2 victory in their Week 20 Liga 1 match on Tuesday, January 28. The intense game featured a red card and two penalty kicks.

The first half at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Gianyar was an exciting one, with both teams creating scoring opportunities, though none resulted in goals. The best chance for Bali United came near the end of the first half when Boris Kopitovic's header was saved by Borneo FC goalkeeper Nadeo Argawinata.

After the break, Borneo FC came out looking to take control, but it was Bali United who broke the deadlock in the 48th minute. The goal came from a cross by Privat Mbarga on the right, which was met by Rahmat Arjuna, who finished into an open net.

Things became more difficult for Borneo FC in the 57th minute when Gabriel Furtado was sent off with a red card after protesting an earlier decision. The referee had awarded a penalty against Furtado, and Boris Kopitovic converted it successfully in the 59th minute, giving Bali United a 2-0 lead.

Just seven minutes later, Bali United increased their advantage to 3-0, with M Rahmat scoring after receiving a pass from Irfan Jaya.

Despite being down by three goals, Borneo FC fought back and pulled one back in the 72nd minute, as Berguinho scored to reduce the deficit.

The match intensified further when Borneo FC was awarded a penalty in the 84th minute following a foul on Fajar Fathurahman inside the box. Matheus Pato stepped up and scored, bringing the score to 3-2 in favor of the home team.

Borneo FC pushed for an equalizer, but despite their efforts, no additional goals were scored, and Bali United secured the 3-2 win in front of their home supporters.
