Marc Klok Opens Up About Indonesia National Team's Issues Under STY

On January 6, 2025, the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) officially dismissed STY from his position, and the team will now be led by former Netherlands national team legend Patrick Kluivert.
Klok had been one of STY’s key players for Indonesia and offered insight into his experience with the coach's methods. He highlighted the strict discipline and communication issues during their time together. According to Klok, these factors created difficulties for players with Dutch-Indonesian heritage in adapting.

He explained that the hierarchical approach STY employed, along with communication primarily through a translator, posed challenges. Klok mentioned that many players of Dutch descent found this style somewhat different from what they were accustomed to.

Klok believes that this approach should change, suggesting that a more collaborative style would strengthen the Garuda squad in future competitions. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and unity rather than focusing on hierarchy.
