Upamecano: "I Told Guirassy Before the Match That He Wouldn't Score Today"

In Round 12 of the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich drew 1-1 with Borussia Dortmund. After the match, center-back Dayot Upamecano spoke to the media.



Upamecano said:

“We aim to win every game—that’s our competitive mindset. I think the team spirit right now is truly outstanding. It’s great to see our forwards tracking back and helping out in defense.”

“We are a tightly-knit group, and today was another example of that. Especially in the second half, our performance was excellent. Taking points at Dortmund’s home ground is never easy.

 Particularly with Guirassy, who is an outstanding striker, but I told him before the game that he wouldn’t score today—and we managed to make that happen.”
