Exciting Matchups Await as Indonesian Super League 2025-26 Kicks Off on August 8

The Indonesian Super League 2025-26, previously known as Liga 1, is set to begin on August 8, 2025. PT Liga Indonesia Baru (I League) has officially released the full schedule for the opening week of the competition. The season will launch with a packed schedule featuring prominent teams from across the country, with the spotlight on the official opening ceremony held at Stadion Gelora Bung Tomo in Surabaya.

Although the earliest kickoff will be between Borneo FC Samarinda and Bhayangkara Presisi Lampung FC at 15:30 WIB, the ceremonial opening match will take place later that evening, with Persebaya Surabaya hosting PSIM Yogyakarta at 19:00 WIB. Other major fixtures on the opening day include PSM Makassar facing Persijap Jepara at Gelora BJ Habibie Stadium in Parepare.
The second day of matches, Saturday, August 9, will feature defending champions Persib Bandung as they take on Semen Padang at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium. Dewa United Banten FC, a strong title contender this season, will host Malut United in what promises to be a thrilling contest at Banten International Stadium. Meanwhile, Madura United will welcome Persis Solo for their own home opener that evening.

On Sunday, August 10, Bali United will clash with Persik Kediri in Gianyar, while Persija Jakarta, one of the league’s most iconic clubs, will host Persita Tangerang at the Jakarta International Stadium. The opening week wraps up on Monday, August 11, with Arema FC facing PSBS Biak at Stadion Kanjuruhan in Malang. The full slate of matches sets the stage for an exciting season filled with fierce rivalries and fresh storylines.
