Persib Eyes President's Cup as Key Warm-Up for Liga 1 and AFC Playoffs

Persib Bandung is using the 2025 President’s Cup as a crucial phase of preparation ahead of their campaigns in Indonesia’s Liga 1 and the AFC Champions League Two playoff. Placed in Group B, they will face Thai club Port FC and fellow Indonesian side Dewa United. All group matches will take place at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, with their first match set for July 6 against Port FC, followed by a fixture against Dewa United on July 12.
Head coach Bojan Hodak views the preseason tournament as a valuable opportunity to test the team against competitive opponents. He acknowledged the strength of both group rivals but emphasized that much will depend on how well each team has prepared during their preseason sessions. His approach focuses on using the tournament to gauge readiness and build cohesion ahead of more critical competitions.
With the Liga 1 season and AFC Champions League Two on the horizon, Persib’s primary objective remains long-term performance rather than short-term tournament results. Bojan, who has twice been named the league’s best coach, aims to optimize team strategy and player form during the President’s Cup, ensuring Persib is fully prepared for the challenges ahead both domestically and on the continental stage.
