Alexander-Arnold to wear No.12 jersey at Club World Cup with Real Madrid
Real Madrid has confirmed new signing Trent Alexander-Arnold will wear the No.12 shirt for the upcoming Club World Cup in the US. The 26-year-old English right-back joined the La Liga giants on a free transfer after leaving Liverpool, where he spent 20 years and won 9 major trophies including the Champions League and Premier League.

Opting for No.12 – previously worn by legend Marcelo – Arnold bypassed his familiar No.66 due to La Liga's squad number rules (1-25). Madrid paid €10 million to fast-track his registration for the tournament starting June 14. The former Liverpool star, with 23 goals and 92 assists in 354 games, brings elite crossing and set-piece skills to a side already stacked with attacking talent.

Named in Madrid's Club World Cup squad, Arnold faces immediate competition from first-choice right-back Dani Carvajal. His arrival adds tactical flexibility, with manager Carlo Ancelotti eyeing how his creative passing can link up with the likes of Vinícius Júnior and Jude Bellingham. The tournament presents the perfect stage for Arnold to kickstart his Madrid career and live up to the legacy of the No.12 jersey.
