Johnny Jansen Eyes Bringing Eliano Reijnders to Bali United

Bali United’s head coach Johnny Jansen has expressed interest in signing Eliano Reijnders, currently a key player at PEC Zwolle and younger brother of Tijjani Reijnders. During a conversation on Bali United’s official YouTube channel, Jansen acknowledged the challenge of bringing Eliano to the Indonesian club due to his ongoing contract with PEC Zwolle and his promising career trajectory, including potential appearances for the Indonesian national team.
Eliano, 24, has been with PEC Zwolle since 2020 and remains under contract until mid-2027. In the current Eredivisie season, he has made 21 appearances and scored once, contributing to the team’s mid-table finish last season. Jansen hinted that the timing of a potential transfer will depend on when Eliano’s contract ends or other suitable opportunities arise, emphasizing that the move is not immediate but remains a target for the future.
Besides Reijnders, Jansen also revealed plans to recruit more foreign players from the Netherlands, following Bali United’s tradition of signing Dutch talents like Sylvano Comvalius and Melvin Platje. He mentioned the possibility of bringing in up to four Dutch players to strengthen the squad as the club prepares for the 2025-26 season.
Bali United is currently undergoing a rebuilding phase under Jansen, letting go of several key players from the previous season to refresh the squad. So far, eight players have left the team, signaling a significant restructuring as the club aims to boost its competitiveness with new signings and fresh talent ahead of the upcoming campaign.
