Inter Milan has shifted its plans regarding the summer transfer window by putting the pursuit of Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United on hold. The Danish striker had been linked closely with the Serie A club, who viewed him as a promising goal scorer to boost their attacking line next season. Initial contacts were reportedly made between Inter and Hojlund’s agent, signaling serious interest in securing his signature.
However, the club’s ongoing coaching transition has caused a sudden halt in the transfer process. With Simone Inzaghi’s departure confirmed, Inter is now focused on appointing a new manager, with Cristian Chivu rumored to be the leading candidate. The club intends to wait for Chivu’s arrival before making any further moves on the Hojlund deal, as the striker was primarily an Inzaghi target.
This pause reflects the uncertainty about whether the incoming coach would want Hojlund in the squad or prefer different transfer targets. Inter plans to reassess its priorities once the new head coach officially takes charge, which means negotiations with both Manchester United and Hojlund’s representatives are temporarily suspended.
Meanwhile, if Inter decides against pursuing Hojlund, the striker could still find opportunities elsewhere in Italy. Juventus has also expressed interest in signing him and might submit an offer during the ongoing transfer window, keeping the door open for Hojlund’s continued career in Serie A.
