Potential Replacements for Denny Landzaat if He Leaves Indonesia for Willem II

The potential departure of Denny Landzaat from the Indonesian national team has stirred speculation about who could fill his role. Landzaat is reportedly being targeted by Dutch club Willem II to become their head coach. This opportunity would mark a significant step forward in his coaching career, as he has mostly served as an assistant so far. Should he accept the offer, Indonesia’s head coach Patrick Kluivert will need to address the vacancy in his coaching staff.
One viable replacement is Pieter Huistra, a Dutch coach with prior experience in Indonesian football, having served as PSSI’s Technical Director. Currently managing PSS Sleman, his position may soon be in jeopardy due to the club’s poor performance and likely relegation. If released, Huistra could be a strong candidate to rejoin the national setup as part of Kluivert’s team, bringing familiarity with the local football landscape.
Alternatively, a local coach might step into the role, with Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto emerging as a logical option. His experience in European football, notably as a coach at Como 1907, makes him a valuable asset. The Indonesian football federation had previously hinted at adding a local figure to the national team’s coaching lineup, and Landzaat’s potential exit may finally open the door for that to happen. The decision now rests on who Kluivert believes can best complement his current staff and maintain the team's momentum.
