Surprise Real Madrid star named official man of the match VS Leganes
The winner of the Man of the Match award in Real Madrid’s meeting with Leganés on Sunday has sparked widespread chatter across the fanbase of the former.
This comes with Kylian Mbappé having beaten out stiff competition to be named Real’s star performer.
Carlo Ancelotti’s troops of course marked their return to action a short time ago, making the trip to the aforementioned Leganés for a La Liga clash.
When all was said and done, Los Blancos emerged dominant victors, by three goals to nil.
En route to as much, a whole host of Real’s stars shone bright, with the likes of Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, Vinícius Jr. and Arda Güler having been widely hailed for their efforts.
As alluded to above, though, upon the full-time whistle bringing a close to proceedings at The Estadio Municipal de Butarque, it was Kylian Mbappé who scooped MVP honours.
The Frenchman, to his credit, did open the scoring on Sunday, but his performance, all told, paled in comparison to those of some of his teammates.
As much has since been highlighted by many a Blancos supporter, amid the consensus that captain-for-the-day Fede Valverde was perhaps most deserving of the Man of the Match prize.
